FIXED BRACES

ADULTS

CLARITY™ ADVANCED CERAMIC BRACKETS • 3M UNITEK®

These tooth-colored brackets ensure minimized frictional contact and optimal wearing comfort with their smooth, rounded design. Since they are made entirely of ceramic, they are suitable for patients with a nickel allergy.
ADULTS

3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System

Incognito lingual brackets are custom-made brackets and archwires tailored to the individual tooth misalignment. This enables maximum comfort because the brackets can be designed as small as possible. Since the lingual brackets are cast from a high-gold alloy, they offer the highest biocompatibility of currently available brackets, making them even suitable for allergy sufferers.
The fixed braces are hidden behind your teeth and are therefore invisible.

ADULTS

Self-ligating brackets Empower® 2 Metal / Clear Brackets, American Orthodontics

These brackets are made of metal or, optionally, ceramic. The clip closure allows for quick insertion and removal of the archwires without the use of wire or rubber ligatures; in addition, the sliding mechanism reduces friction on the archwires. This improves comfort and results in shorter treatment times and fewer follow-up appointments. Their design also facilitates optimal oral hygiene.

ADULTS

Victory Series™ Low Profile Comfort Brackets • 3M Unitek®

These braces are made of metal. They are much more delicate than the standard version and are therefore more comfortable to wear. They allow for a shorter treatment time and improved oral and dental hygiene.

ADULTS

STANDARD BRACKETS

These braces are made of metal and constitute basic medical care. As a standard model, they meet the criteria for adequate, appropriate, and cost-effective treatment.

The transpalatal arch, also known as a palatal bar, connects the bands of the first molars using a wire running along the palate. This keeps the first molars in position in the sagittal and transverse planes.

The quad helix consists of a spring framework running along the palate with four circular loops, which is attached to the maxillary molar bands. Depending on the activation, the upper jaw is expanded in the anterior or posterior region.

The lip bumper works by utilizing the body's own forces and is inserted into tubes attached to the molar bands of the lower jaw. Lip pressure is transmitted via the lip shield to the first molars, causing the first molars to be held in position or to undergo slight distalization.

The lingual arch, also known as a lower lingual arch, is attached to the molar bands of the mandible and prevents mesialization of the first molars by resting against the incisors.

SPLINT THERAPY

These are nearly transparent, biocompatible plastic aligners that enable the treatment of minor misalignments of the teeth. The aligners can be removed at any time and are easy to clean. During the course of treatment—depending on the misalignment—several custom aligners are made to gradually and gently move the teeth, thereby correcting the misalignment.

These are virtually invisible, biocompatible plastic aligners that are used to treat minor misalignments of the teeth. The aligners can be removed at any time and are easy to clean. During the course of treatment, depending on the misalignment, several custom aligners are fabricated to gradually and gently move the teeth, thereby correcting the misalignment.

A Copyplast splint is a sturdy, biocompatible plastic splint that can be used to stabilize the results of treatment.

A Bioplast splint is a soft, biocompatible plastic splint. It is used to provide initial relief for temporomandibular joint problems, as a bite splint for deep bites, as a custom teeth-whitening tray, or as a nightguard.

The anti-snoring splint consists of transparent, biocompatible splints for the upper and lower jaws, which are connected by two lateral bars. This special connection shifts the lower jaw forward and holds it in that position. The forward positioning of the lower jaw widens the throat and reduces the speed of the inhaled air. As a result, the snoring sound—which is caused by the fluttering of soft tissues in the fast-moving airflow—is reduced or eliminated entirely.

RETENTION APPLIANCES

Removable plastic plates without active elements to stabilize the treatment outcome.

The long-term retainer consists of a thin wire that permanently stabilizes the teeth. It is bonded to the inner surfaces of the incisors and canines and is virtually invisible. After a short adjustment period, the retainer is very comfortable to wear. This makes it a particularly reliable and recommended method for ensuring that the patient’s orthodontic treatment results are maintained long-term.

COMBINED ORTHODONTIC AND ORAL SURGERY TREATMENT

Combined Orthodontic and Oral Surgical Treatment

In cases of severe jaw misalignment, there is the possibility of a combined orthodontic-jaw surgery treatment. In this form of treatment, orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons work closely together. First, the malocclusion is treated in our practice, and then the oral and maxillofacial surgeon corrects the misalignment of the jaw. However, the surgical part of the treatment can only take place after bone growth is complete. To conclude the combined treatment, a final orthodontic adjustment of the bite is achieved using various appliances.

TMJ Treatment: Functional Analysis and Customized Splint Therapy

TMJ problems often manifest as TMJ noises, TMJ clicking, or limited mouth opening, with or without pain. The causes are varied. For example, improper bite alignment resulting from faulty dentures or malocclusion can lead to temporomandibular joint problems, as can myofunctional parafunctions such as clenching or grinding. After a thorough functional analysis, the treating professional determines which treatment option is best suited for the patient. Custom-made splints, which relieve pressure on the temporomandibular joint, have proven to be an effective treatment.

PROFESSIONAL DENTAL CLEANING

Good oral hygiene is essential during orthodontic treatment. Cleaning teeth is particularly difficult with fixed braces, and plaque often remains trapped. That is why our dental hygienists demonstrate and explain how to brush your teeth and braces correctly and regularly. In addition, if desired, your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned, polished, and treated with fluoride at every appointment.

ADULTS

TEETH WHITENING | BLEACHING

Also known as teeth whitening. Unfortunately, our teeth become darker over the course of our lives. Coffee, tea, and cigarettes further accelerate this process. Many over-the-counter teeth-whitening products, such as special toothpastes or whitening strips, can damage the gums and/or tooth enamel. That’s why we offer a professional at-home whitening method. We custom-make trays and provide you with high-quality whitening gel tailored to your needs.

ADULTS

TEETH CLEANING | AIRFLOW

Teeth cleaning using a special cleaning powder to gently and effectively remove bacterial plaque and stains caused, for example, by tea, coffee, wine, smoking, or other stimulants. During Airflow cleaning, a mixture of water and a special salt is sprayed onto the tooth surfaces. The treated teeth are then polished to make it more difficult for plaque and stains to reattach. Depending on your consumption of tea, coffee, etc., this type of teeth cleaning should be performed about 1 to 2 times a year.

SPORTS MOUTHGUARD

It protects the teeth from injury during sports. Whether playing soccer, riding a bike, or participating in combat sports such as boxing or karate, the teeth are highly susceptible to injury. Most insurance companies do not cover the resulting costs. To make the mouthguard, impressions of the teeth are taken, and a custom sports mouthguard is fabricated in a laboratory.
